For every construction, make sure that:
- the wood is sufficiently protected from all weather conditions
- the wood can breathe, fresh air can circulate between the logs, and no condensation forms under the tarpaulin
- rainwater can run off the cover tarpaulin
- the wood cover tarpaulin does not flap in wind or storms, as mechanical stress and constant bending can cause cracks in the material
To cover firewood correctly, you need a secure fastening system for the wood cover tarpaulin. There are several ways to achieve this, which we explain below.
- You order a wood cover tarpaulin with aluminum eyelets. It can then be tensioned and secured with cords or elastic ropes.
- You weigh down the cover tarpaulin with enough stones or wooden battens.
- To prevent water pockets from forming on the tarpaulin and to allow rainwater to run off immediately, you can build small upright stacks of split logs under the tarpaulin, creating a roof-like slope.

For all woven tarpaulins made from polyethylene, we recommend our transparent repair tapes. For PVC tarpaulins, also known as truck tarpaulins, it is best to use repair patches for PVC tarpaulins.
