Our supplier in Thailand has its own natural rubber plantation. For us, a traceable and controllable production process is always a top priority. What are rubber bands?
Rubber bands are used to bundle objects or to secure goods. They can be stretched by up to 500-600 per cent without tearing. You will not find this feature in any other product.
What are rubber bands used for?
The use of rubber bands varies depending on the sector and purpose. They are used anywhere from industry to horticulture and from offices to households. However, we only offer rubber bands in large quantities from one kilogram upwards.

What are the rubber bands from dm-folien made of?
The rubber bands in our shop are made from a high proportion of natural rubber. However, the rubber trees are not felled during the rubber decomposition process, but are cut on the outside to preserve the sap. The fact that the plant keeps producing new sap means that this is a very environmentally friendly extraction process. In addition to natural rubber, which makes up around 60-80 per cent of the material, the rubber bands consist of zinc oxide, sulphur and calcium carbonate.
How do you recognise high quality rubber bands?
The quality factor in rubber bands is related to elasticity, elongation and tear resistance. High-quality rubber bands are made from natural rubber and not from petrochemical, synthetically produced rubber, as the majority of rubber band manufacturers now do.
How are rubber bands made?
The rubber is processed into a rubber mass. This mass is then moulded into a tube and cut to the desired width (mm). In some cases, the rubber bands are vulcanised after cutting, resulting in even more elastic and durable rubber bands.
Why are the prices so low?
Due to the large quantities we order, we can achieve favourable purchase prices. We are happy to offer this advantage to our customers. How do you store rubber bands?
Rubber bands can be stored in the PE bags in which they are shipped. Ideally, they should be stored at room temperature and in a place protected from the sun. Rubber rings can withstand temperatures from -40 to +110 degrees. Temperatures above these values can weaken the material, causing the rubber bands to lose their elasticity and stretch.
Always store rubber bands dry and protected from light at 20 °C.
Are rubber bands environmentally friendly?
As natural rubber is a renewable raw material and no trees have to be felled for it, rubber bands are an environmentally friendly product.
How long do rubber bands last?
If the rubber bands are stored correctly, they have a very long shelf life. However, ozone, oxygen, moisture and UV light make the material brittle, which can have a negative effect on durability.
Are rubber bands suitable for contact with food?
You can use our rubber bands in contact with food without any worries. This safety has been tested and confirmed by independent German laboratories. Simply contact us if you would like to see these certificates.
How stretchy are the rubber bands?
Our rubber bands have an elongation at break of around 750 %. For synthetic rubber bands, this value is 350 %.
How are rubber bands measured?
To measure a rubber band, it must be in the resting state. Then use the following measurements: diameter or flat dimension, cutting width and wall thickness of the ring.
