What is a fabric sack?

These are extremely sturdy flat bags made from highly resistant polypropylene ribbon fabric (PP for short). The individual ribbons are cut from PP film and woven into a very tear-resistant, breathable fabric. This fabric is then used in a further stage to produce the well-known fabric bag. The flat woven bag is closed on 3 sides and open on one side (usually the narrow side). The bottom is very tear-resistant and sturdily sewn.

Applications for woven sacks

Firstly, it is worth mentioning that woven bags offer exceptional tear and puncture resistance. Each individual extremely sturdy ribbon ensures this high load-bearing capacity. This is why these packaging sacks are typically used for very high loads and weights, as normal film sacks are either unsuitable or only partially suitable for such demands. Designs & Packaging of our woven sacks

Our standard dimensions in stock have a stable, uncoated, unprinted and white base fabric of 75 grams / square metre. This thickness guarantees absolutely sufficient strength for the above-mentioned applications.

All our stock sizes have a head hem. We also offer some sizes from stock with a tie band so that the sacks can be closed quickly and easily. Depending on the size, they are packed in pressed bales of approx. 500 - 1000 pieces.

In addition, all sizes are sub-packed / bundled to enable smaller purchase quantities. For more detailed information on the dimensions and packaging, please refer to the corresponding articles in our shop.

What colours are available?

We can implement any colour. Everything is possible. Would you like a fabric bag in black, blue, yellow, red, green, brown, orange, pink, purple, plain or transparent and so on? Yes, we can offer you that!

The only restriction is that special sizes and colours require certain minimum quantities for production reasons. Here, too, please simply contact us so that we can check whether we can fulfil your request. Incidentally, white and blue are the most frequently used colours for this product.

Get your fabric bag printed

The PP fabric is easy to print on! Would you like your company logo, advertising print, brand name, product description, recycling logo, recycling symbol, warning notice, or other elements printed on your PP bag?

Our print shop will realise your individual print. Of course, you can choose whether the printing should be on one or both sides. As our customer, you also determine the colours. Simply tell us what Pantone or RAL colour you want.

You can also choose the number of print colours. We can produce your print in one or more colours. Before your customised print is produced, you will of course receive a print approval (proof) so that you can be sure that all your wishes have been taken into account.

Woven sacks & UV resistance

"Normal" ribbon fabric bags are not very UV-stable or UV-resistant. This means that the fabric can be damaged after just a few months of outdoor use.

If you are planning to use bags outdoors (e.g. as sandbags), please be sure to mention this in your enquiry. Once we know this, we will be able to offer you special sacks with UV protection.

Incidentally, plastics such as PP are frost-proof, frost-resistant and cold-resistant. Heat resistance is also very high. The main enemy of plastics is UV radiation from the sun.

Are fabric bags food-safe?

PP bags without an inliner (inner bag) are only partially food-safe (food-compliant). They are not suitable for the storage and transport of food for human consumption.

The packaging of cereals, fruits such as apples and pears, and vegetables such as potatoes and carrots for further processing is permitted. We recommend, however, that you check this with the recipient of the products on a case-by-case basis.

If you want to be on the safe side, use PP bags with a PE inner bag.

Where to buy / order fabric bags?

Of course, you definitely should order from dm-folien gmbh. But jokes aside, we do everything we can to make ordering as easy as possible for you!

If you need smaller quantities of PP bags, please take a look around our online shop. You can easily place orders of up to approx. 500 - 2000 pieces in our shop.

Delivery & Dispatch

We usually dispatch products to our customers either by forwarding agent or by parcel service (DHL). The chosen shipping method depends on the quantity and volume of the order.

As a rule of thumb, consignments weighing up to approximately 30 kg are delivered by parcel service, while consignments weighing 60–100 kg or more are delivered by a freight forwarder. For you as a customer, the best service is also “on the agenda” when it comes to shipping. All shipments are usually dispatched on the same day and every delivery within Germany is free of charge. For deliveries abroad, we offer small, favourable freight costs, which we thoroughly check upon receiving an order to determine the best price for you.

Of course, you can also collect your order directly from our warehouse in Reutlingen, especially if the goods are in stock and you are in a hurry. Collections are possible on weekdays from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Delivery time of our fabric bags

Fabric bags from our warehouse are usually dispatched on the same day, or on the following day at the latest. For customised products, it depends, of course, on the individual conditions. Where is the fabric bag produced? How expensive is the product? What quantity has been ordered? We therefore always check the delivery time for customised bags individually and inform you of the delivery time in advance.

dm-folien delivers to all countries around the world. However, our main market is in Europe. In addition to Germany, we also deliver to Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, and many other EU countries.

PP material & The environment

Polypropylene or PP is one of the most environmentally friendly materials we use nowadays. Neither paper, jute, cotton nor bioplastics have anywhere near the same environmental footprint as PP. The decisive advantages over other materials are:

• Extremely high tear resistance / load-bearing capacity with very thin wall thicknesses
• Infinitely recyclable
• Valuable raw material and therefore high "recycling motivation"
• No toxic substances (heavy metals / plasticisers)
• Only carbon dioxide is produced during production - no toxic gases or waste water

Even when polypropylene is incinerated, only carbon dioxide and water are produced. The disposal of PP is therefore completely harmless.

If you compare the ecological balance of PP with compostable or biodegradable materials, it quickly becomes clear which is better for our environment.

All decomposable plastics made from potato starch, corn starch, soya starch, etc., must be cultivated at great cost, watered, fertilised, harvested, processed into raw materials and then used only once. No recycling, no closed cycle. That is not sustainable at all. This is why we caution against hasty actions simply because the media have "launched a hunt" for plastics.
