What is a wind protection net?
Our special wind protection net is a very sturdy net made of polyester threads. These are coated with PVC (polyvinyl chloride). The PVC coating gives the wind protection net the stability it needs to withstand the wind. Windbreak nets are usually dark green and have a mesh size of 1 x 1 or 2 x 2 mm. The special, flat threads with PVC coating strongly break the wind and protect the areas behind them from wind, heavy rain and hail. The mesh also blocks out sun and UV light and protects against prying eyes.
What are wind protection nets used for?
Many people use our wind protection nets to prevent wind and rain from entering open areas unhindered and unchecked. As the name suggests, the general aim of wind protection nets is to break the wind. The nets are therefore primarily used where there is direct wind, which can be unpleasant or even dangerous to the health of animals and people. It doesn't matter whether you want to protect your horses, cattle, pigs or other farm animals in the stable or whether you want to create a windless, cosy spot in the garden or on your patio. Nowadays, wind protection nets are used in many different areas.

Our wind protection nets are designed for long-term outdoor use. They are UV-resistant, frost-resistant and weatherproof for approx. 10 - 12 years.
Is the wind protection net completely windproof, waterproof and rainproof?
No, wind protection mats are always open-pored and not 100% windproof, waterproof or rainproof. If you are looking for a completely "watertight" solution, we recommend the following alternatives to our windbreak net:

We always have large quantities of the frequently used "fine" wind protection nets in stock in many different widths from 1 metre up to 5 metres. The length of the rolls is always 50 metres.

Customised wind protection netting, by the metre and cut to size
It is no problem for us to supply you with our wind protection net by the metre. Whether you need small or large dimensions, we can fulfil your wishes. We also offer all widths by the metre, so that practically all dimensions between 1 x 1 m and, for example, 4 x 49 m are possible. We use the term "by the metre" to describe pieces that we unwind from original rolls for you in the required length. The custom-made items have no reinforced edges, no attached eyelets, no hemstitching or other finishing work.
Fastening and securely attaching wind protection netting
You can use our patented, extremely stable and sophisticated HOLDon® eyelets to attach and tension wind protection fabric cuts from rolls extremely firmly and securely. We advise you to use these HOLDon® eyelets. HOLDon® eyelets have the following outstanding advantages for the large-area fastening of films, tarpaulins and nets:
- Extremely high tear resistance
- Extremely high tensile load of up to 100 kg
- Much higher tensile load than integrated metal, aluminium or brass eyelets
- Eyelets can be removed and reattached

What special features does a wind protection net have?
In addition to the effect of wind refraction (protection value) of approx. 65 to 90 %, the windbreak net has other useful properties. On the one hand, the thickness of 260 - 330 g/m² offers very high tear resistance. On the other hand, the UV resistance of 10 to 12 years in combination with the high tear resistance means that wind protection nets can be used for many years without any problems. In addition, wind protection nets, like shading nets, provide excellent protection from sunlight and also serve as a privacy screen.
Fine version with approx. 90 % wind refraction, mesh size of approx. 1 x 1 mm
Fine windbreak fabric is ideal for large areas. Our fine wind protection mesh is mainly used for larger openings and areas in stables. However, it is also suitable for carports, fences and for many applications in the private sector.
Coarse version with approx. 65 % wind refraction, mesh size of approx. 2 x 2 mm
