What Is a Pallet Net?

Pallet net is a fine-meshed, open-pored, breathable, stable and tear-resistant wrapping net. It is made from polyethylene (HDPE, high-density polyethylene) and supplied on rolls with a 76 mm cardboard core for quick and easy handling.

Applications of Pallet Nets

As the name suggests, pallet netting is usually used to secure and fix products on Euro pallets and disposable pallets. Pallet netting is usually used when stretch film is not suitable. The net is primarily used for moist and warm products, natural products, fruit and vegetables, potatoes, decorative plants and flowers, which may evaporate moisture after palletising. Our wrapping net is also used for products that need to dry out after packaging, such as firewood. Our wrapping net is not only used for pallets, but also to wrap and secure roll containers with plants and vegetables.

Difference Between Stretchable/Elastic and Standard Pallet Nets

There are two different pallet net versions. The first one is a standard non-stretchable net. And the second version is an elastic, slightly stretchable wrapping net. Elastic or stretchable pallet netting can be easily "pre-stretched" during machine and manual processing. This pre-stretching is generally known from the well known packaging process with stretch film. The pre-stretching of the net during processing of the goods places the net under considerable tension. These forces, also known as restoring forces, generate a significantly higher level of load securing. We recommend wrapping individual pallets that are shipped by a forwarding agent and/or over long distances with stretchable pallet netting in order to achieve the highest possible level of transport protection. Pallets that are only packed for storage or are shipped in fully loaded trucks in direct traffic can be packed with non-elastic wrapping nets. Standard pallet nets are also ideal for flower trolleys that are sent for internal use or often only over short distances.

Pallet Net Dimensions for Manual and Machine Wrapping

Pallet nets are typically 500 mm (50 cm) wide, differing mainly in roll length. Pallet wrapping net for manual processing, also referred to as hand rolls, usually has a length of 500, 800 or up to 1000 metres. These are small, lightweight, and easy to handle, even for less physically strong users. Machine rolls are designed to be as large and heavy as possible for maximum efficiency. With lengths of 3000 m to 3500 m per roll, they reduce the need for frequent roll changes, saving valuable time in automated wrapping processes.

Which Colours Are Available?

For cost reasons, dm-folien supplies pallet nets from stock exclusively in white. However, as with most of our products, we strive to provide maximum flexibility for our customers and can fulfil special colour requests. Would you like to package potatoes in the classic golden yellow net? Or prefer pallet wrap nets in orange, red, yellow, green, blue, pink, violet, or even more unusual colours? We can also accommodate special requirements in terms of width, length, UV resistance, packaging, and more. Are Pallet Nets UV-Resistant?

Since pallet nets are primarily used for transport applications, they are typically exposed for only a short time and therefore not UV-resistant. Non-UV-resistant pallet nets last approx. 3–5 months under Central European conditions (without guarantee, as durability depends on location, season, sunlight, and intensity). Special UV-Resistant Firewood Net

Due to very high demand, we always keep a special UV-stable wrapping net in stock for you. This special firewood net is UV-resistant, as firewood pallets are usually stored outdoors for a certain period of time. The net is 600 mm wide and designed for machine processing.
