What is a gutter hose?
A gutter hose is a stable tubular film made of transparent or black polyethylene film (LDPE film). The tubular film is supplied in rolls and can be individually cut to the required length.
The purpose and benefits of gutter hose as a downpipe replacement
The gutter hose is attached to the gutter outlet as a downpipe replacement on the house façade during the construction phase of buildings to drain rainwater from the roof so that your façade is protected from moisture, splash water and dirt. With our gutter hose, you can also drain or divert rainwater away from your building so that large amounts of precipitation do not accumulate on or in the building.
What is the width and diameter of a gutter hose?
Our gutter hose has a flattened width of 200 mm or 20 cm. This corresponds to a diameter of 127 mm (12.7 cm) and is therefore suitable for all standard gutter outlets. Of course, you can also easily attach the hose to somewhat smaller outlets and fasten it securely and tightly with cable ties.
What is the roll length of a gutter hose?
We offer our customers a hose roll length of 50 metres per roll. The rolls are handy and lightweight, making them quick and easy to handle and process on the construction site.
Film thickness and stability of a gutter hose
We have decided on a high film thickness and therefore a high tear resistance. The film thickness is 130 µ (0.130 mm). With this film thickness, you can be sure that the downpipe replacement will protect your building from dirt for many weeks and months.
The weight of a gutter hose
Our gutter hose is available in small and handy rolls with a weight of approx. 4.7 kg. If you have other requirements, we will be happy to fulfil them.
What material is the hose film made of?
The downpipe film hose is made of environmentally friendly and recyclable high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE = Low Density Polyethylene). Unlike other materials, polyethylene has the great advantage that it is extremely tear-resistant even with low film thicknesses.
UV resistance
Even if the tubular film is only used as a temporary gutter downpipe for a few weeks or months, our film is UV-resistant for at least 3-6 months.
Frost resistance
Our polyethylene rainwater pipe hose can withstand temperatures of down to -80°C and is therefore ideal for use in winter.
Tubular film colour
We offer two different colours: you can purchase the rainwater hose in transparent / translucent or black.
How do I cut the rainwater hose?
You receive a practical and reusable film cutter free of charge with every roll. The film cutter makes it easier for you to cut the tubular film to size.
How do I attach the tubular film?
The tube can be attached quickly and securely using cable ties without any tools. We recommend using cable ties instead of adhesive tape as fastening material. Depending on the quality, adhesive tapes can be very sensitive to cold or heat.
Advantages at a glance
- Flexible and supple material - despite its high thickness, the film material of the tube is very flexible and supple and can be easily and smoothly processed and attached to house facades.
- Stable & secure - the film tube is made of a stable 130µ film and is very durable.
- Free knife included as an accessory - we include a reusable, practical film cutter with every tube roll.
- Economical - one 50 metre roll of sturdy gutter hose film is sufficient for many construction sites / temporary gutter drains.
- Easy and simple installation - the gutter hose film is very easy to install. Cut to length and fasten with cable ties!
- Universal - the diameter of our gutter hose is universally suitable for pipes up to 125 mm Ø.
- Environmentally friendly - reusable and made from environmentally friendly polyethylene.
- Very cost-effective
