What is a PVC strip curtain?

A PVC strip curtain is made of polyvinyl chloride and is highly transparent. The clear, soft strip curtains are very flexible and are therefore perfect for any type of passageway. A PVC strip curtain is wind and weatherproof, so it can be used in any possible location. PVC strip curtains are usually used in cold storage facilities or stables, where they prevent heat exchange without restricting accessibility.

Where are PVC strip curtains used?

A PVC strip curtain is attached to stables for horses, pigs or cows on farms to provide the animals with a place to retreat to on cold days. This allows the animals to decide whether they want to stay inside or outside.

As PVC strip curtains are frost-resistant down to -40° C, they are also ideal for cold storage facilities. This prevents heat exchange. Forklift trucks and pallet trucks can still have constant access without anyone having to open a gate. PVC strip curtains are also used in factories, warehouses and production halls.

How are PVC strip curtains attached?

Firstly, fixing rails are attached to the wall using sturdy screws. These rails form the basic structure for the PVC strip curtain. Next, the slat strips are attached between the 2-piece clamping profile. To do so, place the end of the strip between the two panels and tighten them with screws so that the PVC slat cannot slip. Finally, the clamping profile is attached to the fixing rail that was initially attached to the wall. It is important to ensure that the slats are fitted with an overlap of approx. 5 cm in order to achieve the desired effect.
