The sidewall film not only protects the silo walls from aggressive silage acids, but also prevents air from penetrating the silage, helping to maintain feed quality and reduce losses. We offer black sidewall film in various widths and in lengths of 50 m and 100 m, suitable for different silo sizes and applications. Thanks to its composition from recycled material (regenerate), the film is cost-efficient and highly economical, without compromising on performance. What is a sidewall film?
Sidewall film protects against the acids that are produced in the silo. The film also prevents air from entering from the sides. This makes our sidewall film ideal for covering your silo walls.
Sidewall film is made entirely from recycled material (regenerate), which not only makes the film cost-effective but also very environmentally friendly. Since the recycled material does not impact the quality of the sidewall film, it remains tear-resistant and robust.
What are the advantages of side wall film?
Side wall film is a much cheaper alternative to silo paint. The material is less expensive and it takes much less effort to use. To apply silo paint, you first require manpower and favourable weather conditions to paint the silo. In addition, you need to wait for the paint to dry or use a hardener before being able to start with the silage itself.
The side film can be applied regardless of the weather and attached with simple hand movements and our side wall clamps. You can start ensiling immediately after applying the environmentally friendly side wall film. In addition, side film offers additional protection against air ingress, which makes the silage last significantly longer.
What are the properties of side wall film?
Since side wall film has the same strength as silage film, it is highly resistant to weather-related and other external influences. In addition, the UV stability of approx. 3 months offers additional protection against solar radiation. Since it is black and opaque, the difference to a silo paint is hardly noticeable and gives the silo a simple look with no visual impact on the landscape. Question: Is sidewall film really necessary in the bunker silo?
Answer: The side wall film protects the bunker silo from oxygen supply on the side walls. Especially on the side walls of the silos, the compaction of the silage is often much lower than in the middle of the silo. For this reason, special attention should be paid to the tightness here. The larger the silo system, the greater the risk.
