Questions and answers
What material is pond liner made of and is it harmful to the fish?
Our high-quality pond liner is made of recyclable polyethylene (PE). It is completely environmentally friendly and poses no danger to any animals or plants in your pond, as it contains no plasticisers.
How strong is your pond liner and how long can I use it for?
In our range, we offer two thicknesses (0.5 mm or 1 mm). LDPE pond liner is known for its extreme robustness against microorganisms and frost (-50°C). Other properties include high resistance to chemicals, as well as very high tear and puncture resistance (ideal for stones and roots). The lifespan, or rather the UV resistance, of our pond liner is guaranteed for 15 years.
Can LDPE pond liner be laid or welded in winter at low temperatures?
It is generally possible to lay LDPE pond liner at temperatures below zero as long as individual lengths do not have to be welded together. The liner does lose some of its flexibility at low temperatures, but it does not become brittle or breakable. In any case, welding should only be done at temperatures above +5°C, otherwise there is a risk that the welds will crack!
I only have a very small pond. Do I still have to buy the specified size?
