What are black cover films?
Black cover film is made of an environmentally friendly plastic polyethylene. It is waterproof and in most cases it is LDPE film (low-density film). There are also other densities which are classified as HDPE (high density film) and MDPE (medium density film). Black cover films can be used in many different ways.
Multi-folded black cover film
To ensure good handling, black cover films that are very wide (up to 20 metres wide) are folded several times before they are rolled up.
If you have special folding requirements, dm-folien will realise your specifications.
What can black cover film be used for?
As packaging film
The main purpose of black cover film is the opaque packaging of goods. However, this cover film is also used in industry, production and clothing manufacture.
Properties of black cover film
With the smart use of masterbatch or additives, several different polyethylene film properties can be achieved:
- Flame-retardant / non-flammable / fire-resistant / B1
- Food-safe
- Anticorrosion / VCI
- Breathable / perforated / needled / punched
- ESD / antistatic / electrically conductive
- Smooth surface / dull non-slip surface
- Coex, therefore 2 different surface textures can be achieved (front side, back side)
- Straight edges / edge trimmed (for machine film which is processed on machines)
- UV-tight
- UV-resistant / determination of service life und durability in the outdoor area
- Biodegradable / compostable / rottable

In what dimensions and thicknesses are black cover films available?
Width and length
We offer black cover film in all possible widths and lengths. If you cannot find what you are looking for in the standard sizes, simply contact us and we will find a solution together. In most cases, we can realise your special requests without any problems.
The following film widths are possible: a minimum of 20-30 mm to a maximum of 20 m.
The following lengths are possible: a minimum of approx. 5 m, the maximum length depends very much on the film thickness and can therefore not be specified in general terms. There are also few obstacles here. We produce small rolls of 5 m, 10 m or 25 m, as well as jumbo rolls with extremely high running metres of 1000 m, 5000 m,...
Thicknesses
The black cover films are available in thicknesses between 30 and 300 my. But the following also applies to the thickness: If we don't have the right thickness for you, we can realise your individual requirements. Simply contact us directly and we will provide you with a customised quote.
Material of the cover film
We can manufacture black cover films from the following materials:
