Antistatic Bubble Wrap Bags with Adhesive Closure, 120 x 160 + 50 mm

length: 160 mm width: 120 mm

Bubble Wrap Bags, 120 x 160 + 50 mm, Antistatic, with Self-Adhesive Closure Bubble wrap bags are used for packaging sensitive goods to protect them from impacts and mechanical damage. Such goods include electronic components and devices, which are highly sensitive to electrostatic discharge. Friction between the film and the product can generate electrostatic charges, creating electrical voltage. To prevent this voltage from damaging your product, our antistatic bubble wrap film is treated with a special antistatic agent. This reduces the surface resistance of the film, allowing electrostatic charges to dissipate at an early stage. An additional advantage is that it minimizes static build-up between the film and the user, preventing the bubble wrap from sticking to your fingers.

What are ESD bubble bags?

Bubble bags are bags made from LDPE bubble film. Bubble bags are made from several layers of bubble film and thus provide a high level of protection for sensitive and fragile products. They are used as packaging material and ensure that your products are safely delivered to the customers. Bubble film bags are a very secure and strong packaging material. Standard bubble bags are opened on the narrow side and sealed on three sides. The feature "antistatic" or "ESD" is realised by adding an additive, so-called antistatic master batch. Antistatic packaging protects electronic devices and components from static discharge, which in the worst case can lead to the complete destruction of the device's functionality.

What does the abbreviation ESD mean?

The abbreviation ESD stands for Electro Static Discharge. Static charge occurs when, for example, two materials are rubbed against each other. When the materials are separated again, an electrical charge is generated. Everyone is familiar with the small, unexpected electric shocks that occur in everyday life when you touch a metal object, such as a railing. These small electrostatic charges, which you sometimes cannot even feel physically, can cause severe damage to sensitive components.

What material are ESD bubble bags made of?

Antistatic ESD bubble bags are made from pure polyethylene (LDPE). LDPE means low density polyethylene.

What are antistatic bubble bags used for?

Antistatic ESD bags are primarily used to protect electronic devices or parts from electrical discharge. Special additives, which are mixed into the granulate during production, minimise the surface resistance. Electrical charges are dissipated in the film material. In addition, they naturally serve as excellent shock protection during storage and transport. Bubble bags not only cushion your products, they also effectively protect them from dirt, dust, moisture and theft.

A very pleasant additional effect is that the bag does not become electrostatically charged. This means that the bag does not stick to hands and clothing during packaging and processing, as is often the case with conventional, non-antistatic bags. ESD bubble bags are often used for the following goods and products: smartphones, computer chips, electronic components, rechargeable batteries and batteries, electronic circuit boards, sensitive measuring devices and many more.

How high is the surface resistance of antistatic ESD bubble bags?

The surface resistance of our antistatic bubble bags is between 10⁸ Ω and 10¹¹ Ω. The bags are therefore dissipative. This means that the electrical voltage that arises within the bag is dissipated in a short time. The antistatic additive remains in the bag for up to 6 months. Thanks to the antistatic properties of the bubble bags, you can pack sensitive electronic components without any concerns. Even if you are not packing electronic goods, our antistatic version has its advantages, as it prevents the bubble bag itself from becoming electronically charged, making it less likely to stick together. If you have particularly sensitive electronic goods to pack, we recommend ESD bubble bags, which dissipate any resulting charge even faster.

What is the shelf life of the antistatic agent?

It should be noted that the antistatic agent in ESD bubble bags loses its effectiveness over time (see above). If a certain surface resistance value is of great importance to you, it is essential to check the values from time to time.

Why are ESD bubble bags coloured pink?

Antistatic ESD packaging material and packaging bags are only coloured in pink to distinguish them from normal packaging materials. This eye-catching colour is intended to prevent confusion and thus avoid product damage. The colour of ESD film products is purely an visual marking. For custom-made products, the film products can also be made transparent or coloured in another colour of your choice.

Which sizes are immediately available from stock?

We have the following sizes of antistatic ESD bubble bags in stock. All antistatic bubble bags have a 50 mm flap. These are so-called flap bags with a self-adhesive closure.

120 x 160 mm, 160 x 240 mm, 240 x 320 mm, 320 x 480 mm, 400 x 600 mm
