What is a bubble bag?

Bubble bags are flat bags or flap bags made from LDPE bubble film. Bubble bags are made from multi-layered bubble film to ensure that your products reach the customer undamaged using this packaging material. Bubble bags are a safe and secure packaging for your products. They are closed on three sides and open on one side. The opening is usually on the narrow side. Any desired size, thickness, colour and design is possible.

Intended use of bubble bags

Bubble bag packaging protects your products during storage and transport to your customer. They effectively prevent breakage, scratching and other damage thanks to their air-cushioned, puncture-resistant and stable surface. They also protect your products from dirt, moisture and theft.
Bubble bags are suitable as packaging material for metal parts, products made of glass, porcelain, ceramics, mirrors, electronic components, products with sensitive surfaces, as well as pressure-sensitive, flexible, delicate products and much more.

A comprehensive and well-sorted range with different designs awaits you. We stock bubble film bags as flat bags, without and with seal, self-adhesive seal or pressure-sensitive closure, so-called adhesive seal bags. For electronic goods we stock antistatic ESD bubble bags. Of course, antistatic bubble bags can also be used for other products, as long as the pink colour does not bother you.

What bubble size do bubble bags have?

If this point remains unmentioned, bubble bags are always offered and supplied with the usual standard bubbles with a diameter of 10 mm. Bags with a significantly larger 30 mm bubbles and a greater height are also possible.

What colours are available?

Dm-folien gmbh also offers you coloured bubble film products. Any colour is possible. Would you like your bubble bag in blue, red, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, black, white or other unusual colours? No problem, just ask us. You also determine the opacity. Regardless of whether you want your bag in translucent (coloured-transparent, see-through) or completely opaque, we will make your wish a reality.

What printing can be done?

Printing on bubble bags is generally possible, but unfortunately involves high purchase quantities. Advertising printing with your company logo, for example, can be done on 2 sides with up to 6 printing colours.

Bubble bags with self-adhesive seal - designs

For bubble bags with a closure (self-adhesive), you have the choice of whether you want the adhesive flap to be reversible or permanently adhesive. Reversible means that the flap can be removed again without damaging the film of the bag. A permanent adhesive ensures a very secure closure, but it cannot be opened and closed again.

What information is required for a customised quote?

In order to provide you with a precise offer, the following information is useful:

• Width and length of the bags when flat
• Film thickness if possible
• Bubble diameter (which is almost always 10 mm)
• The number of layers, 2-ply or 3-ply
• The quantity you need
• Any special requests, if any

In any case, it makes sense to let us know how quickly you need the bags so that we can decide which variant to choose, in-house production, import or a combination of the two. For custom-made products, you can also freely choose the labels on the cartons or on the packaging bags.

How do I choose the size of the bubble bags?

If you are unsure which film bag size is suitable for you, please tell us the dimensions of your package. We are sure to be able to calculate the optimum size of flat bags for you. What is the size of a bubble bag and when does it become a bubble sack?

Unfortunately, there is no standard here. We have decided that we refer to bubble bags up to a size of 400 x 600 mm as bags. All larger dimensions are referred to as bubble sacks.

Are there organic bubble bags?

Unfortunately not. At the moment, no market player has developed an organic version of bubble bags that is of equal quality and suitable for mass production. However, we do have the option of producing bubble bags with a certain proportion of regranulate/recycled material. This means that the bubble wrap is made from LDPE film from the recycling process. Film that was already in circulation is melted down again and processed into new bubble wrap. This saves resources and money.

Can bubble bags be welded?

Since bubble film bags are made from the thermoplastic polyethylene (LDPE), they can be welded without any problems. For efficient and fast welding of bubble film bags, we recommend our beam welding device, which is available from stock in many different widths. Packaging of bubble bags

We pack them in a practical, sturdy cardboard box. All variants are packed in a "parcel service-optimised" box. We deliver the bubble bags in a cardboard box with the standardised and DHL-compatible dimensions of 790 x 590 x 590 mm. All our bubble bags are packed in this parcel service-optimised carton because we don't want to waste a single cent on freight and transport. This enables us to offer you the best possible price, even for small order quantities.

Of course, smaller quantities than a standard packaging quantity are also possible, although these are somewhat more expensive due to unfavourable transport costs. However, you can always expect absolutely fair and favourable prices from us, even for smaller quantities.

We therefore ship items such as bubble bags to you in "parcel service-optimised" boxes by parcel service and, for larger quantities, on euro pallets by freight forwarder. What is the difference between bubble bags and bubble mailing bags?

The difference lies in the outermost layer. Bubble bags are generally made from two to three layers of LDPE film, which are welded together. If you do not want the bubble bags to be coloured, they are transparent. Bubble film mailing bags, on the other hand, are laminated with an additional outer layer. This third or fourth layer of white or brown kraft paper or white coex film provides additional protection and ensures discretion, as the inside of the bag remains concealed by the additional layer.

Material of the bubble bags

All bubble bags are made from the environmentally friendly plastic low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Polyethylene has outstanding properties that make this plastic an indispensable and ecological material for packaging. Even at the lowest film thicknesses, polyethylene film is extremely tear-resistant, stretchable, dust- and waterproof. No other material can withstand this. The possibility of using PE films in these low material thicknesses makes PE a very ecological product. But that's not all. PE is a so-called thermoplastic that can be recycled an infinite number of times. In addition, polyethylene consists only of carbon and hydrogen. PE burns to carbon dioxide and water when it is incinerated and not recycled. No toxic substances or waste water are produced during the manufacturing process. Anyone who replaces PE packaging with another material today, such as paper, is harming the environment.
